Thirsty Crow Story in English Writing for 1st Year Students

Once upon a time, the hot summer was in full swing. A crow felt thirsty. The desire to quench his thirst made him restless. He decided to find out some means to satisfy his thirst. He flew here and there and tried his best to search out water. He searched every nook and corner but in vain. Despite all his possible efforts, he could not find out water anywhere.

“HOPE SUSTAINS LIFE”

Fortunately, he happened to pass a garden where he saw a pitcher. A ray of hope relieved his sinking heart. He, at once landed to have access to the water. But his heart started sinking again when he looked inside the pitcher. Of course, there was water, but very low. It was beyond the reach of his beak. The shadows of despair encircled him, but dominating thirst compelled him to find out some solution. As necessity is the mother of invention, he hit a plan to quench his thirst.

“A SLEEPING FOX CATCHES NO POULTRY”

The plan was to throw some pebbles into the pitcher so that water could reach within his reach. So, he flew away and fetched some pebbles in his beak. He began to drop these pebbles in the pitcher, one by one. His efforts seemed to bring fruit. His happiness knew no bounds when water began to rise in the pitcher. At last the water rose up and reached within the reach of his beak. He drank water to his heart’s fill and flew away happily.

Possible Morals:

  3. Where there is a will, there is a way.
