What is viscosity or fluid friction?

An internal frictional force between different layers of a flowing fluid is called viscosity of fluid.
Vescosity measures how much force is required to slide one layer of the liquid over another layer. Substance that do not flow easily, such as  thick tar and honey etc; have large coefficients of viscosity and the substance which flow easily, like water, have small coefficients of viscosity, since liquid and gasses have non zero viscosity.

State stroke law of viscosity.

It states that the drag force F on a spherical object of radius r moving slowly with speed v through a fluid of viscosity given by

                        F = 6pnrv
at high speed the force is no longer proportional to speed

Define terminal velocity.

The maximum, constant velocity acquired by spherical body falling in a viscous medium when the drag force become equal to its weight  is called terminal velocity

Define Bernoulli’s equation.

Bernoulli’s equation relates pressure of fluid to its speed and height when fluid moves through a pipe of varying cross- section and height.

            the sum of pressure the kinetic energy per unit volume and potential energy per unit volume of an ideal fluid  remains constant at every point of its path
                        P + ½ pv2 + pgh = constant
                        Concider an incompressible, non viscous fluid flowing steadily through a pipe in time t

Work done at upper end:

                        p1 = pressure at upper end
                        A1 = area of cross section at upper end
                        P1A1 = F1 = force on upper end of fluid during time t
                        x1  = distance travel by the fluid
= F1 x
