Islamic society is above time and space. It is not limited to colour, caste or creed. It is not bound by geographical boundaries. A person who embraces Islam becomes a member of Islamic brotherhood. He may live in any country of the world. He may speak any language. He may have any colour a creed. But as a Muslim, he enjoys all rights and privileges of Islamic society.

They speak different languages but they bow before God Almighty together. All kneel before Allah without taking stock of their colour and creed. All are humble and obedient to Him at the time of Hajj, the Muslims show unity, equality and harmony in their ranks.

The Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) last address at the time of last Hajj in his life is ranked as the best charter of human society. In his address, he declared clearly that no Arab is superior to non-Arab. There does not lie Superiority in colour, caste and creed. All the Muslims are brothers. A slave should not be held interior by his master. Both are equal in the eyes of God. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) set a practical example of this when he held Hazrat Bilal (a negro) very close to him. He trusted him and consigned to him to perform the duty of calling the people to prayer. Islamic society is governed by certain principles. The first principle which is the cardinal point of Islamic society is brotherhood and fraternity. They are just like different parts of the body. If one part of our body suffers pain, the rest of the body accepts its influence. The same is the case with the Muslim society.

Islamic society is regulated by laws of justice and fairness. The Muslims are urged to do justice to all members of society without taking into account their pelf, power and status. Everybody, whether he is a ruler or a subject is equal before the law. The Holy Prophet (S.A.W) and his companions have set many examples of practical justice to the world.

The third principle which governs Islamic society is the earning of livelihood by the lawful method. Islam hates all types of exploitation in the social as well as in the economic field. Interest is forbidden in Islam as it is based 0n exploitation. Islam being a religion of peace and security condemns all types 0f cruelty, tyranny and oppression. It is a code of life which claims to setup an era of Justice, peace and love in the world. An Islamic society has based its foundation on love, peace, fair play and justice.
