Dear Father,

It gives me an immense pleasure to inform you that I have performed well in the recent mock-up Examination. It is a tradition that results of the exams are regarded as a facsimile of the result of board examination. You have always advised and instructed me to aim higher. You have always promoted and exhorted me to do something extraordinary. Although I am in 90’s but my quest for even higher percentage never relaxes. It is the result of the endless prayers of my mother and father. I have always resorted to your technical advice whenever I needed.

I have also noticed some of the deficiencies which hamper my performance. I should give references from books while attempting subjective or theoretical questions. For this purpose, I will have to buy some extra-books. Our hostel dues have observed a remarkable increase because of soaring prices. Inflation has adversely affected my monthly expenditure on small things like the haircut, laundry etc. You are well aware of the facts. In order to cope with all these, I request you for an increase of Rs. 2000/- in my monthly allowance. Dear father pray for my success.
